Those belonging to the poor sections of the society are not able to attain education vocational skills. As a result, they largely seek unskilled jobs. Such jobs are low paying
Besides the numbers of poor in countries like India is very large and therefore the jobs created in sectors agriculture and industries are not able to absorb them all.
The increasing price index level and large family sizes results in negligible improvement in their livings standards.
As a result, though the country may make good economic progress, the fruits of such development do not make any marked improvement in the lives of the poor.
