Solution
Dear student,
Some covalently bonded molecules consists of network of atoms which is extended throughout the structure of covalent compounds. Covalent solid are known as giant or macromolecule because in covalent solids atoms are bonded to neighbour atoms to form a network and have a huge molecular mass.
Examples of giant molecules include diamond with a continuous network of carbon atoms. Each carbon atom is bonded to four neighbour atom and bonding is uniform throughout the structure.
