Solution

  1. Neanderthals had greater cranial capacity (1500cc to 1600cc) while modern man has got a cranial capacity of 1450 cc to 1500cc).
  2. Similarly, neanderthals were outputs of glacial period (cold climate), while Modern Man (Homo sapiens) were outputs of interglacial period (warm & temperate climate).
  3. This was the reason neanderthals were very robust and stoic and short statured; while Homo sapiens are tall, muscular and aggressive.
  4. The larger brain size of the neanderthals though made them more cultured than modern man in terms of cave living, spirit and ancestral worshippers, they were, however, overridden by modern Homo sapiens and suddenly disappeared from evolutionary line.
  5. The biological anthropologists believe that the overspecialization of the cranial capacity (brain size) and cold habitats of neanderthals were the cause of their extinction.
  6. In short, this is just a matter of evolution. No real accurate reasons can be provided.
