why desert plant take up co2 at night?

Open in App
Solution

In deserts, the temperature is very high so desert plants open there stomata during the night time to prevent the loss of water due to transpiration. Transpiration is maximum during the day so stomata remain closed during the day time and carbon-dioxide is take in during the night time, which is then utilised during the day for photosynthesis.
