Solution

The correct option is C Gandhiji believed that it would divide the Hindus and make untouchables feel left out.
On 16 August 1932, Ramsay MacDonald, announced the Communal Award. It provided separate electorates to the minorities, i.e. Muslims, Sikhs, Indian Christians, Anglo-Indians, women and the “depressed classes”. Even though Gandhi supported reservation of seats, he strongly opposed the inclusion of the "depressed classes" in the list of minorities. He felt that it would divide the Hindus and make the untouchables feel left out.
