The Madras Justice Party was opposed to what it felt was the domination of the Brahmins in the Congress. Hence, it usually took an opposite stand to the Congress on most matters. It was even opposed to the Indian Independence Movement becasue it feared that it would bring back the domination of Brahmins. Hence, in order to cooperate with the ruling British government, it took part in elections even when other parties like the Congress boycotted it.
