Solution:
In the early ages of human existence, the greatest civilizations existed near the river valleys. The rivers acted as a reliable source of water for agriculture and other human needs. The land beside the river was very fertile which facilitated agriculture, hence fulfilled the need of surplus food. Moreover the rivers served as excellent means of transport. The Indus valley civilization that flourished on the banks of river Indus, was one of the prominent ones.
