Dear student,
When the demand for the formation of States on the basis of language was raised, some national leaders feared that it would lead to the disintegration of the country. It would divide the country into different parts and the country would lose its unity and strength.
In 1947, the boundaries of several old states of India were transformed to create new states. It was done to ensure that people who spoke same language live in the same states. The impact of the formation of linguistic states is that it had made the country more united. It had also made the running of administration easier.
Regards.
