Solution
Instruction:
Explain the unpopular acts and how colonists revolted against the Stamp Act.
Solution:
The war between France and Britain put a huge financial burden on the British. Since the American colonies were the major beneficiaries of British war victories, Britain felt it appropriate to tax Americans to manage their war affairs.
Therefore, the British Parliament has passed a series of unpopular acts, such as, the Currency Act, Sugar Act, Quartering Act, Stamp Act, etc.
In response, the colony declared that it had the right to levy taxes through Parliament and was not represented in the British Parliament. So they put up the slogan, "No taxation without representation."
