Why did the British establish their industries in India?

The British had originally established their industries in India for trading purposes. India exported spices, indigo, textiles and other materials and accounted for 25% of world industrial output in late 17th and early 18th centuries which made it quite an attractive place for setting up trading posts and companies in India.
