Why did the british occasionally follow policy of non intervenention?

Open in App
Solution

The British occasionally followed policy of non intervenention because:
They didn't wanted to invite any hostile reactions from Indian rulers by intervening everywhere.
They intervened only when their own selfish motives were at the stake.
Their power and influnece was not well built at the begining, hence intervened occasionally but once they set their foot firmly then they dictated each and every work of the country.
