Why did the USA drop atom bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Solution

The United States dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6th and 9th August 1945. It was done to force Japan to surrender because Japan was not ready to surrender unconditionally. Due to its devastation and huge loss Japan unconditionally accepted the surrender on August 14, 1945.
