Question

Why did we remain on ground why don't we sink into it?

Open in App
Solution

The ground is rock solid.
It consists of tiny particles of soil tightly packed up one over the other, that it forms a strong base.

It is strong enough to provide a normal reaction, a force equal and opposite to our weight.

When we try to stand on a heap of sand or water, we tend to sink through, because the surface below is not able to provide normal reaction, or in other words, not able to support our weight.

Hope you arr clear
