Question

Why do capillaries have only endothelium lining?

Open in App
Solution

Capillaries:

Capillaries are the blood vessels present in the blood vascular system.

Endothelium:

  1. It is the thin layer of endothelium cells in the wall of the capillaries that helps in the gaseous exchange between blood and tissue cells.
  2. It is also present in the inner wall of the veins and arteries.

Capillaries have only endothelium lining because:

  1. This thin lining of the endothelium helps in transferring oxygen in an officiant manner.
  2. It also allows blood serum to exit in an efficient manner.
