Chromosomal abnormalities are types of genetic abnormalities caused by changes in one or more chromosomes or abnormal arrangement of chromosomes.
Chromosome abnormalities occur when the foetus has the wrong number of chromosomes, the wrong amount of DNA inside the chromosome, or chromosomes that are structurally defective.
This abnormality can translate into the development of disorders such as congenital abnormalities, Down's syndrome, and possibly miscarriage.
