Solution

The correct option is B

Wind help in faster evaporation

EVAPORATION: The phenomenon of change of a liquid into vapours at any temperature below its boiling point is called evaporation.

Factors affecting evaporation :

  1. Temperature: With the increase in temperature the rate of evaporation increases.
  2. Surface area: Since evaporation is a surface phenomenon, if the surface area is increased, the rate of evaporation increases.
  3. The humidity of air: Humidity is the amount of water vapour present in the air. When the humidity of air is low, the rate of evaporation is high and water evaporates more readily. When the humidity of air is high, the rate of evaporation is low and water evaporates very slowly.
  4. Wind speed: With the increase in wind speed, the particles of water vapour move away from the wind. So the amount of water vapour decreases in the surroundings.

Hence, option (B) is correct option.
