Why do coastal areas have moderate climate?

Dear student. 1) Large tracts of coastal plains in India experience equable climate which may be attributed to large water bodies like Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal 2) These water bodies enclose the Peninsula of India on all the three sides which results in moderate influence of land and sea breezes 3) Places in the interior regions have continental or extreme type of climate.
