Open in App
Solution

Covalent compound:

  1. These compounds are formed by electron sharing between the atoms of the same element or different elements.
  2. The covalent bonds are strong but the intermolecular force is weak.
  3. Because of weak intermolecular force, the molecule can be dispersed easily with a small amount of energy.
  4. Therefore, they exist as liquids, gases, or soft solids.
  5. Example: H2,H2O, graphite.
