Question

why do each particle have different amount of kinetic energy?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Jacob,

If you are asking for the same sample like hydrgen gas of 1 mole have equal to avogardo's no. of hydrogen molecule.
Suppose 1 mole of hydrogen gas is placed in 10 liter flask then every molecule will be in different position at a time. Every molecule will have different speed and is called average speed. So every particle in the sample have different kinetic energy.

And if you are asking in terms of different atom or molecules of different sample then all the particle will have different kinetic energy.
