Open in App
Solution

Barr body:

  1. The barr body is sex chromatin, in which the body has an inactive X chromosome.
  2. The barr body is formed due to the inactivation of genes on one of the X chromosomes present in females.
  3. It is to prevent the double expression of the X chromosome.
  4. Compared to males who have only one X chromosome and zero barr body females have two X chromosomes and one barrbody.
  5. It is a random process.
  6. The maternal X chromosome gets inactivated and in some paternal X, the chromosome gets inactivated.
