Question

Why do gases get compressed?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Intermolecular space is the space between two molecule or atom.
  2. In gases, the intermolecular space between particles is quite large. So, gases are easily compressible. When the external pressure is applied, the particles come close to each other and gas gets compressed.
