Lichens are highly adaptable to extreme climatic conditions.
They can grow at high altitude because there are minimal chances of draught and conditions are usually moist and damp which is favourable to lichens
Also, the temperature is low and environment is clean with availability of nutrients like Nitrogen, carbon and oxygen for Lichens.
Hence, these can grow at high altitude.
