Why do most rivers in the peninsular plateau flow from west to east

Dear Student,

a. Most rivers in the peninsular plateau flow from west to east because of the relief features of the region.
b. Since most of these rivers like Krishna , Godawari originate from Western Ghat and drain into Bay of Bengal origin.
c. Also since the Deccan plateau is tilted towards south east , most rivers start from West and drain into eastern side of the Peninsula.
