Why do not fishes or other aquatic animals collapse by the presence of water exerted on them?

Open in App
Solution

Aquatic animals such as fishes have various adaptations to prevent the collapse by the pressure of water exerted on them. The body of the fish is streamlined that protects them from the resistance or pressure caused by the water. They also have gills which maintain the pressure by expelling water in and out.
