Different Goals: Development or progress does not mean the same thing for every individual. Each individual has his own idea of development.

For example, development for a farmer might be irrigation facilities; for unemployed youth, it may mean employment opportunities, etc.

Abolishing of Corn laws in England led to the import of food more cheaply in Britain. British agriculture was unable to compete with cheap imports and vast lands were left uncultivated, rendering thousands of men and women jobless. They flocked to cities or migrated overseas.

Advertising helps in increasing the loyalty of existing customers, replacing lost customers and encouraging existing customers to buy more of a company's products or services. Advertising helps to make consumers aware of a product and aims to build a preference for that product over its competitors.
