Question

why do plant cells have vacuoles and not animal cells?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Both plant cell nd animal cells have vacuoles but plant cell contains bigger vacuoles due to the amount of water the cell must hold to maintain its shape. It allows plants to support structures such as leaves and flowers due to the pressure of the central vacuole. Vacuoles also allow plant cells to store various substances like gum, resin, latex etc.
