  6. Thus desert plants have deep roots and they bloom only at night.
  7. The leaves of desert plants contain a waxy coating that hinders evaporation of water.
  8. The tropical plants have large leaves in order to absorb sunlight. They have brightly colored flowers to boost pollination.
