Question

Why do short circuit take place, if more current is made to flow through this wire?

Open in App
Solution

  1. When the current in a circuit rises rapidly and the electrical connection draws an excessive amount of current from the supply, a short circuit happens.
  2. A short circuit can emerge if too many appliances are connected to a single socket or when high-power appliances are linked to a light circuit.
  3. Doing this, the circuit's resistance decreases, causing the current flowing through it to increase dramatically.
  4. Also, If the insulation on the wires in the circuit is destroyed or the appliance is defective, the live and neutral wires come into direct contact, causing current to surge in the circuit and a short circuit to form.
