Why do small children have red cheeks who are living in a higher altitude?

At higher altitude, amount of oxygen in the air is less. Because of that our body produces more blood.So people residing in the higher altitude will have more blood than we have,so that maximum oxygen can be absorbed by blood.Certain parts of the body like,tips of nose, cheeks receive more blood in the body. The skin of the children is more delicate compared to adults.That is why their cheeks appear pink.
Blood is more and the skin is pale in children, both factors make cheeks pink.
