Nonpolar molecules that are symmetrical and small (H2, N2, O2, F2 ) have weak intermolecular forces and form molecular solids with quite low melting points (below −200 °C).
Substances that are larger, nonpolar molecules have stronger intermolecular forces and melt at higher temperatures so their high melting point.
