Question

Why do the electrostatic field lines not form closed loops?

Open in App
Solution

The electrostatic field lines originate from positive charge and end at the negative charge. As the isolated positive and negative charge do exist, the electrostatic field lines do not form closed loops. They can never originate and end at the same point.
