Solution

1. A magnet is a substance that is made of two sides, one called north pole and other is south pole. This magnet has ability to attract paramagnetic material towards itself.

2. Iron is a ferromagnetic material that is made of small paramagnetic substances known as domains.

3. When we rub a magnet on one side of a an iron piece, its domains gets aligned accordingly, and get attracted towards the magnet but it does not induce any permanent magnetism and thus, it will not behave as a magnet.
