Why do the jaundice infants are kept under light and why do the adults r asked to drink different types of juices and no oil??

it is because liver of new born functions poorly for the 1st week or so , many babies experience a mild form of jaundice that disappears as the liver matures .Usually ,it is treated by exposing the infant to blue light ,which convertsbilirubin into substances the kidneys can excrete.
