Question

Why do we connect our appliances at home in parallel?

Open in App
Solution

We connect our appliances at our home in parallel because generally all of the appliances are rated to work at 220 V and parallel connection provides the same voltage for all the appliances.

Whereas in series connections, the voltage source is divided among the appliances in the ratio of their resistances and won't work at their rated power.
