Open in App
Solution

Something which has more energy will produce more damage.

Steam is the answer.

Lets calculate the energy amount in boiling water and steam;

  1. Energy in Boiling Water= Energy water gained till heating at 100 degree celsius to boil
  2. Energy in Steam= Energy it gained till 100 degree celsius to boil+Energy it gained to convert into vapour state which is latent heat of vaporization.

Now, If a person gets into touch with steam, then it will release more heat energy on the skin which will cause more damage.

Again due to free movement of hot particles in gaseous state it can cause damage to larger surface area of skin.
