Question

Why do we jerk wet clothes before spreading them on a line for drying? Explain

Open in App
Solution

  1. When the wet cloth is jerked, water droplets try to remain at rest due to inertia.
  2. So water droplets get detached from the cloth.
  3. Hence, the wet cloth with less water dries up quickly.
