Why do we need a constitution?

Solution: Almost every country, be it democratic or not, has a constitution. This is because -

1. A constitution specifies how a country should be governed.
2. It states how laws would be made and the procedure to amend them.
3. It limits the power of the government by giving the citizens some rights which the government can not violate.
4. It builds trust amongst the people and expresses the aspirations of the people about creating a good society.
