A mixture is obtained by mixing two or more substances together.
These are also called components.
It is a physical combination of substances.
Need for separation:
The mixture is separated to remove impurities that are present in it.
Several methods are there for separating mixture like hand picking, sieving etc.
For example: The separation of stone and mud from rice and tea leaves separated from the tea to enhance the taste.
