Why do we say that "induction precedes attraction"?

Solution

Induction precedes attraction

  1. When you bring a piece of iron to the near end of the magnet, you need the opposite polarity on the near side of the piece.
  2. The poles attract each other, so the iron attracts the magnet.
  3. So the piece of iron first becomes a magnet and then attracts. This is why induction precedes attraction.
