We can see water droplets on the outer surface of the container having ice cold water in it because,

  • When water vapour present in air comes in contact with the glass of cold water.
  • It loses its energy and gets converted to a liquid state i.e gets condensed due to which water droplets can be seen.
  • This phenomenon is called condensation
