Question

Why do wet clothes dry faster on a windy day?

Open in App
Solution

Evaporation: It is a type of vaporization which occurs on the surface of the liquid and the liquid state of the substance will convert into a vapor state.

  • On a windy day, the increase in the speed of air takes away the evaporated water vapor from the air in the surroundings.
  • Due to this, the rate of evaporation increases on a windy day, and because of that, the clothes dry fast.
