Why do you call pituitary gland as master gland of the body? Write about it.

The pituitary is a small endocrine gland located below the hypothalamus in the brain. It is called as master gland because its secretion regulates and controls the secretion of the other endocrine glands such as thyroid gland, adrenal gland, pancreas etc. The hormones of this gland are also required for the different activities in the body.
