Solution

George Wickham was a master of deception, extremely handsome, uniformed soldier with impeccable social skills. He was well aware of the effect he had on women and used his charm and good looks to entice girls. Young Elizabeth Bennet is also taken in by him, she is led to believe in the story that Wickham concocts of being deprived of all that was promised by the elder Mr. Darcy to him and which was denied by the younger one. He knew the art of manipulating people to benefit himself and that is what he succeeds in with Elizabeth as well such that she continues to believe in his story until he elopes with her sister.
