Refrigeration: It is a method of preserving food where food items are stored in cold conditions like refrigerators.
This method works by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms like bacteria, yeast and moulds.
Microorganisms responsible for the spoiling of food can function optimally within a certain temperature range.
When the temperature is lowered by refrigeration, these microbes cannot function properly and hence cannot spoil the food which results in fresh food for a longer time duration.
Examples: Milk, fruits, vegetables, etc. are stored by this method.
