why does a fish die when kept outside water inspiteof having oxygen in the air around it?

  • When fish is inside the water, the water flows through it gills such that the gills separate oxygen from water. This oxygen is taken by the fish which is used for breathing of the fish.
  • When the fish comes outside of the water, then the gills of the fish can't work so that don't get oxygen and causes them to die.
