Why does a rubber balloon after being rubbed stick on a wall?

Open in App
Solution

  1. When two bodies are rubbed against each other, they will get charged.
  2. The balloon will get charged when it is rubbed.
  3. The wall is not charged because we are not rubbing any other things against the wall.
  4. A charged object (ball) is getting attracted to an uncharged object because the uncharged object (wall) is getting the opposite charge of the charged object due to charging by induction.
  5. Rubber balloon is getting a stick on walls because opposite charge attracts each other.
