Question

Why does an ice box have double walls?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Icebox is a double-walled box, generally made from iron.
  2. The space in between the walls is filled with glass wool which is a bad conductor of heat.
  3. Thus, the heat from outside does not reach the ice and, hence, it does not melt.
