Solution
Reason for bread mold to grow on the moist surface:
Bread mold: It is caused by a fungus named Rhizopus. It has spores enclosed in structures called sporangia that grow on a stalk-like structure called hyphae.
The spores, when finding suitable conditions and substrate reproduce.
Fungi is a type of microbe. Microbes generally require a warm, humid, and moist environment to grow well.
They do not grow in dry conditions at all, even if the surrounding is warm.
Therefore, bread mold also grows on a moist slice rather than on a dry slice of bread very well.
