Why does Carbon form a strong bond with other Carbon atoms or atoms of other elements?

Solution
Carbon forms a strong bond with other Carbon atoms or atoms of another element because of its small size which enables the nucleus to hold on to the shared pairs of electrons strongly.
As, Carbon has four (4) valence electron, losing or gaining four electrons are not possible because of energy consideration.
So, because of that reason, Carbon forms covalent bonds because it can achieve the inert gas electron arrangement only by sharing electrons.
