Open in App
Solution

The table salt, NaCl, contains some salts of MgCl2 which have the ability to absorb water from environment. This is called hygroscopic nature of substance which makes the substance wet and sticky. In the rainy season, the moisture content of the atmosphere is more and hence common salt absorbs more water and becomes wet.
